Tracking Nostalgia

Post by HC on Sat Sep 13, 2014 9:21 pm

Hey who remembers tracking software? That's right, I'm talking about MOD music from the 90s. The MS-DOS based 4-channel MOD Tracker and the 32 channel Scream Tracker 3 (or FastTracker 2) running with a Gravis Ultrasound. Remember these words? Remember "Demoscene?" Remember Future Crew? Second Reality? Sigh... those were the days, no?

I remember listening, but was never part of the scene - I was still doing live audio to tape until the mid-late 90's when I got a home pc and started using that as a tape recorder... ;-)

Whoa...ditto. I thought this thread was going to be about recording tips as we used to call recording tracks "tracking".

I was still tracking to tapes as well, ADAT & DAT up to Y2K. Then even to MiniDisc-before I ever tried a computer sequencer. My original sequencer was the hardware beast Roland MC50.
